Strategy – Leadership – Digitalization
The Leadership Acceleration Programme combines two onsite teaching modules – one in Kolding and one at IMD, Lausanne – with an eight-week online learning module, customised for the programme by IMD.
All teaching in each of the three modules revolves around three key elements:
- Knowledge – presenting the latest insights within the fields of leadership, strategy and communication, to give you a strong knowledge base
- Skills – applying theory and tools to practical cases, to boost your execution skills
- Personality – challenging your understanding of yourself, to make you a better leader
Lecturers provide close supervision when you and your fellow participants put your learning to the test in practical business cases, discussions and written assignments.
Module 1: Strategy, Leadership and Communication
Module 1 presents the most popular models and frameworks used in strategy making. You’ll learn how to create a structured and effective process for strategy execution in your organisation – and how to position yourself as a trusted advisor in the strategy-making process.
The module also gives you deeper insight into your personal strengths and weaknesses as a communicator. You’ll learn to master the art of motivating and engaging different stakeholders through effective communication.

Module 2: Strategic Thinking and Leadership
Module 2 is a customized e-learning module, designed by IMD.
Building on the knowledge acquired in module I, module II continues to develop your strategic thinking skills. Working in groups, you’ll conduct strategic analyses and assess which strategic initiatives to pursue and which to abandon.
Focusing on you as a leader, this module also helps you to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build effective leadership skills. You’ll know how to create engagement and buy-in; how to handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts; and how to help others develop their full potential.

Module 3: Innovation, Personality and Digitalization
Studying the world’s most innovative companies, module 3 examines which leadership behaviours and organisational set-up create the best conditions for developing great ideas and cost-effective operations. Studying ‘personality dimensions’ and leadership styles, the participants learn to master the art of influencing others through successful mobilisation and persuasion.
You will also get an in-depth understanding of digitalization and digital management – both the overall “helicopter perspective”, but also very concrete and tangible models and tools so you can execute on the digital strategy from day one.
